Hi

I am Anne and I have been working voluntarily as Primary Exhibitions Organiser for the gallery for the last 7 years. I have enjoyed being part of this project and have expanded my love of art. I love meeting a whole variety of people involved in gallery life.

So please contact me if you want to exhibit and take part in this project.

Below are some past exhibitions we have had the pleasure of working on.

Please keep up to date on what exhibitions and classes are being run by the gallery by visiting our Future Events page.

Dartford Creative Artists and Makers Market

The programme aims to highlight and develop the work of Dartford artists and creative organisations and encourage more young people and families to use Dartford High Street. From August – December 2013 we are delivering a broad programme of creative activities and events working with a range of communities and artists. Activities will be situated at One Bell Corner on the High Street, every Saturday from 10am – 3pm. We will offer activities for families, updates, launches and opportunities to get involved. Our unique Artist and Makers Market is part of this offer and the Artist and Makers Market will take place on the high street.

Wilmington Girl’s Grammar School 6th Form Students 2013

This exhibition showcased work from A-level art students from the school. The tutor negotiated with us for the girls to instigate the exhibition from start to finish, this involved procuring the art and planning the whole exhibition themselves. A few planning meetings were carried out in the gallery prior to the exhibition. They designed their own leaflets and posters and even hung their own work, with some help. The girls had a most successful opening evening, for family and friends. The gallery enjoyed working with the students and were delighted with their standard of work.

Camberwell College of Arts 2009

In this exhibition, students were involved in showing a video arts installation – ‘peephole’ art.

Students used seven volunteers to take pictures of their exhibition. They recorded the position of their iris’ whilst looking straight ahead and they measured the activity of the dilation and contraction. An enjoyable and unusual experience for all concerned.

North West Kent Fine Art Department 2013

Fine Art Students Students presented an exhibition of their end of year works. Students loved the opportunity to hold a reception and private viewing in the Gallery for their parents and friends to see their work and where their work was also offered for sale.

Photography Workshop 2012

What If…? Gallery obtained a grant from Dartford Council to commission Timothy Leek, a well known photographic artist to present community workshops producing portraits of their own community space through the medium of the camera. This class was provided for young people in Dartford and were free for all youngsters. The results were later exhibited in the gallery.

Children’s Workshops

Children join us in the school holidays, for arts and crafts. The children can paint a canvas with a tutor, or join the crafts room where they can learn to create mobiles; butterflies, masks and other creative projects. We can also arrange for children to be taken to Holy Trinity Church to experience brass rubbing. All of these different activities will cost £5 for two hours. Parents can stay with their children if they are under six years old and even join in with the art. Dates for these activities will be posted on our Facebook page. We rely on our band of volunteers to help with enthusiastic children attending the gallery. We do our best to arrange acitivities especially during the school holiday – would you like to help at the gallery?
